Why attend the World Congress on Brain, Behavior and Emotions?
The successful story of the event is reflected in a paper by Thomas Insel and
Rémi Quirion, who participated in the Montreal edition in 2014, where
they suggest the adoption of the term “clinical neurosciences” to
bring together in a single specialty experts and researchers who focus on the
treatment of brain conditions.
The Brain Congress started in 2005 in the town of Bento
Gonçalves in southern Brazil, being original and bold by bringing together
for the first time in a same meeting neurologists, psychiatrists, geriatricians,
neuropsychologists, functional neurosurgeons, basic neuroscientists and other
professionals from related areas.
After 11 editions, the Brain Congress has taken large proportions and new challenges,
attracting an increasing number of speakers and attendees from various parts
of the world.
It has actually become a congress with a world reputation,
with unique and unconventional features. The choice of local and foreign speakers
is solely based on scientific criteria. Multidisciplinary debates bring together
scientists and clinicians. The program gives space for themes related to everyday
neurosciences, behavior-related issues like love, passion, betrayal, choice,
ethics, moral and their motivations are discussed.
For all these reasons, the Brain Congress is more than
just a congress. It carefully combines scientific knowledge and fun. It teaches,
surprises and moves. It allows for intense interaction, involving everyone in
an atmosphere of knowledge and pleasure.
Therefore, it was not by chance that the event was
featured in papers published at the American Newsweek Latina and mentioned
in magazines, newspapers, TV shows and websites devoted to health.
And the next exciting, involving and unique experience
has already been scheduled, it will be held in Buenos Aires, from June 12-15,
